We first met this couple to plan their upcoming wedding. We went through all the details, wishes and ideas — and at the end of the meeting we decided to take a few practice portraits at Vanhankaupunginkoski.
It was the best decision.
After the session the couple said: “We will be very happy if the wedding portraits go just as well as this.”
That summer I photographed their wedding — a celebration of 140 guests.
Vanhankaupunginkoski — Helsinki’s Hidden Gem
Vanhankaupunginkoski is one of Helsinki’s most beautiful and peaceful photography locations. Old stone walls, lush greenery, weeping willows along the river and that summer light filtering through the trees — all in one place.
The couple dressed in white, which suited the surroundings perfectly. The portraits were natural and warm — exactly what good practice shots should be.
