There are moments you cannot get back.

Those first days with a newborn are something words rarely do justice. Exhaustion and overwhelming love existing at the same time. The feeling of a tiny person sleeping on your chest while the whole world stands still.

I had the honour of capturing those first fragile days for this beautiful family from Espoo, welcoming their baby boy into the world.

The session was warm and unhurried, exactly as the first days of a newborn’s life should feel. The family’s dog was part of the story too, curiously and very seriously inspecting the newest family member. In the details, you can see everything that words cannot quite reach: the way a mother and father look at their baby, those impossibly small hands, a silence that is full of love.

Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first two weeks of life, ideally between days 5 and 14. At this stage babies sleep deeply and settle beautifully, allowing for the most tender and timeless images.

These moments pass quickly. But the photographs stay. 💫
