Child and Family Photography in Helsinki Rose Garden. The Magic of a Summer Evening.
The warm July evenings are something truly magical. When the sun slowly begins to set and the light turns golden, all of nature seems to stand still for a moment. In this soft, warm evening sun, we headed to a wonderfully fragrant rose garden with a lovely mother and her two children.
Our goal wasn’t to take stiff, posed portraits, but to capture a piece of a carefree childhood summer. And that is exactly what we got.
The photoshoot was filled with genuine joy and presence. We played peek-a-boo laughing among the tall rose bushes. Little fingers carefully gathered fallen, silky-soft rose petals into a small woven basket. It was exactly the kind of unhurried magic of a summer day that every parent wishes they could bottle up for the winter.
Looking at these photos—the mother’s gentle gaze as she hugs her little ones on the blanket, the big sister’s proud smile in her straw hat, and the toddler’s joyful first steps on the grass—I feel immense gratitude. These are the fleeting moments that stay in our hearts, and now, thankfully, in photographs as well. A summer evening where everything was simply about the here and now, surrounded by a sea of flowers.
Thank you for this wonderful adventure, it was a joy to capture!
