Newborn Photography in Kouvola. Matilda and the Family’s Black Rabbit
Newborn Photography in Finland | Studio Happy Moment
There is something especially meaningful about being invited back. I had photographed this wonderful family a couple of years earlier, when their first child was born and now I was given the same honour with their second. The newborn session in Kouvola felt warm and familiar from the very first moment, because we already knew each other. And that shows in the photographs.

Matilda — little model in Front of the Camera
Matilda had only just arrived in the world, but she behaved in front of the camera like a seasoned professional. She slept peacefully, allowed herself to be gently moved into different poses and my absolute favourite, she even smiled for the camera.Earlier that summer I had sewn a soft pink bodysuit specifically for this session. On Matilda it fit just perfectly, as if it had been made for her.
The Family’s Rabbit was an Unexpected Star
The family’s black rabbit joined the session again, the same one who had been part of the firstborn’s newborn photos a couple of years before. Newborn sessions are always special, but when a family’s own pet is part of the story, the photographs become something truly unique.
Family Photos and a Sleepy Ending
At the end of the session we took family portraits, including big sister. And once everything was captured, Matilda was finally allowed to get back to what she does best — sleeping in her hammock. That was a photograph I simply could not leave without taking.
Book Your Newborn Session
The best time for a newborn session is 5–14 days after birth, when babies sleep deeply and are easiest to photograph in those beautiful curled poses.I travel for sessions beyond Helsinki, Kouvola, Tampere, Turku and other cities are all possible.
Get in touch early, ideally during pregnancy, to secure your preferred date.
