A Multicultural Domaine Wedding Near Paris | Destination Wedding Photographer
There is something truly magical about a destination wedding in France. We had the incredible honor of traveling as a two-photographer team to capture this spectacular three-day celebration just outside of Paris. The festivities included a romantic Love Story session in the heart of Paris, this breathtaking wedding day at a stunning French Domaine, and a relaxed BBQ party the following day.
A Clever Morning Reveal and Touching Preparations
The wedding morning started with an atmosphere of joyful anticipation. The bride had such a brilliant and practical idea: she first wore a beautiful, light cocktail dress to warmly welcome the arriving guests. Just before the ceremony, she slipped away to her mother’s hotel room, where her mother helped her into her actual, breathtaking wedding gown. It was a wonderful way to surprise everyone as she walked down the aisle!
An Elegant Ceremony and a True French Cocktail Hour
Following a beautiful one-hour outdoor ceremony, it was time for the Vin d’honneur (the traditional French cocktail hour). Guests mingled while enjoying elegant canapés, and a live chef was grilling up delicious mini-burgers, an absolute hit with the kids (and adults)! While the guests were happily enjoying the food and drinks, we sneaked the couple away for a short walk around the picturesque Domaine to capture their official wedding portraits in the lush, green surroundings.
Dinner, Games, and a Beautiful Burkina Faso Tradition
After the bride tossed her bouquet, the estate staff began lighting a large fire in the BBQ area to prepare the coals for the next day’s party, and the guests transitioned indoors for the reception.The dinner was filled with laughter and entertainment. There was a fun quiz, a touching slideshow telling the story of how the couple met, and heartfelt speeches. One of the most meaningful and beautiful moments of the night was a tradition from Burkina Faso: the groom’s mother and sisters presented the bride with a gorgeous shawl, draping it over her shoulders as a warm, symbolic welcome into their family.
A Spectacular Cake Show and Dancing the Night Away
You can’t have a French wedding without a spectacular dessert presentation! The waiters brought the wedding cake and pastries outside on a long wooden board, entirely illuminated by sparklers. It was a fantastic show! The evening culminated in a romantic first dance, followed by a high-energy disco where the couple and their guests danced the night away.
