Pastel Styled Wedding Shoot at Oitbacka Gård, Finland
When was the last time you wrote a letter by hand? This styled shoot began with exactly that thought — handwritten invitations, wax seals and calligraphy, the kind of details that feel almost like a luxury today.
We photographed this pastel-toned wedding editorial at Oitbacka Gård, a historic manor in Kirkkonummi, just outside Helsinki. Also known as Oitbackan kartano, it is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Helsinki region, and its light-filled winter garden — the Orangery — felt made for this palette: powder pink, dove grey and gold.

The details tell the story
The paper suite laid out on the table — invitations, menu and place cards — was designed by a graphic artist and finished by hand with calligraphy and wax seals. The bride’s grey lace gown and softly pinned curls carried the same old-world romance through the whole story.
A ceremony in the garden
We staged the ceremony in the manor garden, in front of an ornate white screen. Autumn light, green lawn and a pastel bouquet — nothing more was needed. This is what makes Oitbacka Gård such a rewarding place to photograph: the backdrop is ready in every direction.
The reception table in the Orangery
The reception scenes were photographed inside the winter garden, where whitewashed brick walls and tall windows give the softest, most flattering light I know. The sweetheart table was dressed in powder pink linen with gold cutlery and lush florals, deep burgundy tones woven in among the pastels. And of course: a marbled wedding cake and macarons to match.
